Michael R. Bilbrey brings 28 years of experience as an attorney. After receiving his law degree in 1980 from St. Louis University Law School, Michael joined the law offices of Irvin Slate Jr. Michael practiced there until 1983, when he formed the firm of Hopkins and Bilbrey, P.C. which in 1990 merged with two other firms to become Bono, Goldenberg, Hopkins and Bilbrey. There, Michael was mentored by Randall Bono, one of the preeminent asbestos litigators in the country. Michael R. Bilbrey launched his new firm in the year 2000, with now Judge David Hylla. Judge Hylla took the bench in December of 2006 and the name changed to Law Offices of Michael R. Bilbrey.
Since 1990, Michael has concentrated in the area of representing victims of asbestos-related disease, and his firm has combined settlements and verdicts in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Michael's firm has handled cases for construction workers, janitors, refinery workers and hundreds of other people who fell victim to the diseases caused by exposure to asbestos, including cases of secondary exposure affecting the unfortunate spouses of workers. The spouses often were exposed at home when they unwittingly came in contact with asbestos-tainted clothing worn by their working husband or wife.
Michael R. Bilbrey is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (in which he was a former member of the Board of Members), the American Association for Justice and the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America.
